Philip has practised as both a solicitor (21 years) and a barrister (18 years) largely in insurance related disputes generally involving commercial and common law issues.

Philip obtained certification from the Victorian Bar Association as a lawyer mediator and has been accredited as a mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation Scheme and is a NSW Supreme and District Court appointed mediator. In July 2015 Philip was appointed a mediator for the NSW Personal Injury Commission.
